I came here to win, let me tell ya, I'm gonna end up on top.

Jennifer Behm was a contestant on Season 2 of MasterChef. She was the winner of that season and was awarded the MasterChef trophy and a salary of $250,000.

Personality

Jennifer was a self-proclaimed tomboy, showing an outspoken and competitive spirit, a feisty yet bubbly personality. Despite having a weak start and being inconsistent throughout her run which led to her being placed in the bottom 7 times, she always managed to improve and bounce back from her mistakes. In the kitchen, she had a lot passion, was very determined, and showed flashes of brilliance, but was unarguably the most inconsistent performer of the season. Despite this, she gradually improved her cooking skills and slowly evolved into one of the show's front runners, which allowed her to win the competition. She was a nice person who was easy to get along with, but can sometimes be arrogant and disrespectful towards anyone who she disliked. She seemed to get along with everybody except for Christian, whom she had a major running feud with over his cocky and hostile behavior toward most of the other cooks of the season. She was also disliked by Suzy, who believed she stole the latter's place in the finale.

Season 2

Episode 1

Jennifer was the very first home cook to audition this season. She revealed that she started cooking as she couldn't stand to eat more Salisbury steak from her mom, and described herself as a boy with boobs. After saying she was a former Miss Delaware, she said she needed to follow what she loved, before breaking a glass bottle while walking to the judges.

When she entered the kitchen, Ramsay told her to take off her granddad's hat, to which she replied it actually was his. She prepared a coconut curry lentil soup with spicy shrimp. While explaining her preparation, the judges remarked how she sounded like a real chef. She received a yes from Graham, but a no from Joe as he felt like it was a failure. She ultimately received an apron as Gordon felt she had a lot of determination.

Quotes

  • "I'm at the point in my life where I need to follow exactly what I love. I came here to win. Don't let the blonde hair, and the nice smile and high heels fool ya."
  • (After Christian's elimination) "Christian's intense, we kinda had this love and hate relationship. He's pompous, he's arrogant, he's disrespectful. Of course he's a great cook and I give him praise for that. However, I'm glad that they sent him home. Here's your walking papers little boy, get going!"
  • (After winning MasterChef) "This is a thousand dreams come true. My family taught me that to never give up a dream, that if you want it and if you work hard, anything is possible. It doesn't matter what the nay sayers say. I'm proof of that. This is a journey that I will take with me and cherish for the rest of my life. This is a dream come true."
  • "I am the next MasterChef. And it feels so amazing."
